Plastic is a common material that can be found almost everywhere. However, the most problematic aspect of plastic isit's environmentally damaging and has unimaginable implications. As humans, we have a responsibility to protect our planet and avoid causing damage to it.
Avoiding plastic in our plastic-filled world might be difficult, but it's never too late to start. However, finding alternatives to everyday products like plastic bottles and packaging is becoming easier, and this comes at a crucial time for our plastic-polluted planet! Here are five long-lasting plastic substitutes that you can use on adaily basis:
1. Reusable shopping bags
The use of plastic has decreased dramatically as a result of the plastic ban. Meanwhile, some establishments still use plastic bags. Taking a canvas or paper bag with you to the grocery shop can help you contribute to a more environmentally friendly atmosphere.
2. Stainless-steel bottles &eco-friendly tumblers
Steel bottles are the perfect alternative to the harmful materials released when plastic products are used.On the other hand, steel bottles are robust, durable, and reusable. They can be found in the market for a reasonable price. Steel bottles can help improve our environment by lowering the number of plastic bottles that are discarded, which contribute to excessive pollution levels. Tumblers with silicone lids or plastic tops are still better for the environment than cups made completely of plastic. Coffee, tea, and juices are best served in environmentally friendly tumblers.
3. Compostable trash bags
Trash bags with plastic covers are the most popular due to their ability to hold a large amount of trash. On the other hand, compostable trash bags are the ideal alternative to plastic bags. Furthermore, compostable trash bags are generally commercially available at affordable prices, making them a preferable choice than spending much more on plastic trash bags.
4. Reusable straws
Straws are another commonly used plastic product. Initially, many cafes used plastic straws. On the other hand, paper and stainless-steel straws have become popular choices. Reusable straws can help you avoid overspending on plastic straws. Aside from that, they are environmentally beneficial, sustainable, and may be disposed of without difficulty.
5. Eco-friendly cutlery
When you come to picnic, stainless steel spoons may not be the best option because you need something disposable. So instead, plastic and stainless steel cutlery are best replaced with wooden spoons and environmentally friendly kitchenware. Another alternative for eco-friendly disposables is bamboo cups and plates.
There are several simple changes that we can all make to help reduce plastic pollution. As more of us seek non-plastic solutions from the companies we shop for, the amount of plastic produced will begin to drop.So start with some small, simple changes that will drastically reduce your plastic consumption.
