a. Talar Sahsuvaroglu - Sustainability expert
Dr. Talar Sahsuvaroglu is a Sustainability and Environmental Expert with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. Since starting her role in 2013, she has been managing the sustainability and environmental requirements of the stadiums being constructed for the World Cup Qatar, as well as developing, preparing and implementing first the Host Country Sustainability Strategy and now the joint FIFA-SC-LOC Sustainability Strategy to meet the mission and vision of the tournament. Dr. Sahsuvaroglu’s expertise lies in environmental management, air quality, climate change and waste management, working previously as a consultant for the World Bank, governments and privately-funded projects.
b. Abdulrahman Almuftah - Sustainability expert
Abdulrahman Almuftah is currently working with the sustainability and environment department within the supreme committee for delivery and legacy. Their work is to deliver the sustainability commitments for the World Cup 2022 which includes the Carbon Neutrality commitment. As a mechanical engineer he started his professional carrier in construction, specifically in commissioning with an interest in green buildings.
c. Örjan Lundberg - Sustainability expert
Orjan Lundberg is a Sustainability and Environmental Expert at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, where he is part of the team that overseas all sustainability and environmental aspects of the infrastructure preparations for the World Cup Qatar. Prior to his current position, Orjan was Executive Director at the Green Building Council of Australia where he led the development and implementation of the Green Star sustainability certification system. Orjan has also held positions in Sweden as a lecturer in Environmental Management and Sustainability at the Chalmers University of Technology.
Magda is a senior facility manager at the Al Bidda Tower for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy. She introduced an effective way to reduce one of the common office waste, which is single-use plastic bottles, by replacing single-use water bottles with reusable glass and water dispensers.
Ghanim is a young Qatari, passionate about raising awareness and creating impact on vegan and sustainable lifestyle. As a founder of Enbat Holdings, he strives to create a difference in the community by changing the way people eat and inspiring others to live a more sustainable lifestyle. In a very young age he has created a line of sustainable businesses that includes Evergreen Organics Cafe, Qatar’s first 100% vegan cafe.

Meet Tom Peacock Nazil, founder of Seven Clean Seas, an ocean cleaning organization, that has a mission to preserve the marine environment by ridding the seas of plastic for good with innovative infrastructures and technology solutions. Since its inception in 2018, they have cleaned over 350,000 kg of plastic pollution from the marine environment alone. Now Seven Clean Seas is working with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy on delivering the world’s first plastic neutral world cup. Along with this, launching One Tide with Road to 2022, working against plastic pollution in Qatar #AsOneTide

Founder of Beehive Recycling, Qatar’s first smart and simple recycling solution for households and corporations. Sarah found Beehive Recycling through the realization of the amount of plastic coming up in landfill and saw a gap in the recycling facility from household to household. To date, Beehive collects paper, aluminium and plastic waste from corporations and households all over Qatar. Beehive aims to support the nation's efforts in reducing waste in line with the environmental pillar of the National Vision 2030.
Tom is a Business Development Manager Middle-East at Peterson Control Union. .Growing up near the ocean in the Netherlands, Tom is very passionate about the ocean. From a very young age, plastic waste in the ocean is no stranger to Tom which drives him to find innovative solutions and found the Plastic Free Week Challenge. Through this challenge, he hopes to raise awareness on how much plastic is produced in an entire week.
Laura Brenan is Al Jazeera’s English news reporter and founder of EcoSouk. Her love for sustainable, plastic-free alternatives grew from the realization of the high amount of plastic usage through groceries. From recycled and reusable produce bag alternative solutions to grocery bags, EcoSouk has grown to provide products that help reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable living
